YNS Fun Friday

I'm back with another YNS Fun Friday post featuring the box kite and kitty images from Japan Icons Set Two. We've been doing quite a bit of kite flying these days with all the windy days of March we've had in addition to nice, warm temps. So much so, that George has become quite the aficionado at kite flying and even went out on his own this week to do a bit of solo kite flying!

Boy, was it ever tough getting both George and his kite in the picture!

Be sure to check the YNS Blog for more Friday Fun/Fun Friday from the YNS Design Team!

TCP Tuesday 202: Kick Some Grass!

Julie is this week's TCP Tuesday HWTM (hostess with the mostest) and she's challenging us to create something spring-like with the required element of grass. As you can see, I've used The Cat's Pajamas' CutUps Grass Border die as well as Big Ticket to create my grassy scene. Now, I'm thinking this isn't all that 'springy', but I like it just the same. Of course, the sentiment, from Kick Some Grass, couldn't BE more perfect, right?! I'm thinking this would be a fun card to give my 17 year old son, Hank, as he heads to a wrestling tournament next week...if he was into hand stamped cards, that is {wink}.

Please head over to Julie's blog for complete TCP Tuesday details, and you all have a great weekend!

YNS Fun Friday

I'm here with a card for YNS Fun Friday using the sweetest little turtle from Japan Icons Set Two. This sweet little paper pieced turtle is trudging up a sunset hill doing the whole "I think I can, I think I can..." walk, all the way to the top! A little nudging is all it takes sometimes, and this cute little card could do.the.trick!

The papers used are from My Mind's Eye along with two strands of button twine, brads and distressing for added texture. Check out the YNS Blog for all the Fun Friday details!

TCP Tuesday 201: Inspiration Challenge

Here's my take on this week's inspiration challenge for TCP Tuesday 201 using the CutUps Big Pinking Border die, Warm Fuzzies and a little Beige Linen Thread. After seeing Jen's inspiration collage, I was really inspired to somehow incorporate the chevron pattern and what better way than to use the CutUps Big Pinking Border to accomplish the task?!

To get the double edge cut, I ran the paper/die through my Big Shot once and then carefully lined up the die again using the 'eyeball method', adhering it in place with a piece of tape. Not an exact science with less than perfect results, but as my BSF Carole so eloquently points out--it's wabi-sabi and you've gotta embrace the imperfections in stamping, I mean life!

I sure hope you get a chance to come out and play along with TCP Tuesday 201 this week! Check out Jen's blog for more challenge info and Alma's blog where you'll be able to link up your creation. If you upload to SCS, use keyword: tcptues201.

Have a great weekend!

YNS New Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the YNS New Release Blog Hop! I'm showing off the adorable new set, Dress Up Fhiona! I decided to dress her up for Halloween, pulling in the bright greens of the designer papers from My Mind's Eye, Blackbird Collection.

Since I went the Halloween route, I used a YNS sentiment from Spooktacular, and framed it with Black Licorice Divine Twine.

Let's talk about the hop and all of the great things going on over at Your Next Stamp, shall we?! First off, you may have hopped here from Jen's blog, and after you're finished here, you'll hop along to Diana's blog. Now, that's just the half of it...you NEED to stop by the YNS blog because you will find the complete new release details as well as Hop Specials and Hop Prizes!!

Thanks for hopping by today!

YNS Sneak Peek: Tooth Fairy Ellie

Welcome to Day 2 of YNS sneak peeks! I'm peeking Tooth Fairy Ellie with you today, and I have to say she's just too cute in her jammies, holding her special tooth pillow, just waiting for 'the exchange', wink!  I fashioned a tooth fairy door hanger with a special tooth pocket that your little one can hang on the door upon the loss of a tooth. The way I see it, the door hanger idea will lessen the likelihood that the toothless child will wake up upon 'the exchange', if you know what I mean?!

Stop over at the YNS blog today for the complete list of sneak peeks and then come back tomorrow for the official new release blog hop! For now, I'm going to enjoy the first Saturday I've had 'at home' now that our high school wrestling season has come to an end. I'm not quite sure if I know what to do with myself, but I'm guessing cleaning the house is somewhere on the list and maybe a trip to Target...now that sounds like fun!

TCP Tuesday 200!

We are celebrating TCP Tuesday 200 like it's St. Patty's Day, don't ya know, with a FREE giveaway and a free download of every TCP Tuesday Sketch Challenge to date, so let's hear a big ol' woot-woot for The Cat's Pajamas! The FREE giveaway is nothing less than the ENTIRE April collection of stamps and CutUps dies that will be making their appearance in a few short weeks, and they are fabulous! Comment on any of The Cat Packers blog posts that feature our 200th TCP Tuesday Sketch Challenge by Tuesday, March 13 and you could WIN our complete NEW release! Is that a like finding the pot o' gold, or what folks?!

Speaking of the iconic pot-of-gold, I used the upcoming St. Patty's Day as inspiration for my sketch challenge card to wish you all a bit of good luck on your journey to win the FREE giveaway honoring TCP Tuesday 200! The gold embossed sentiment is from one of my all-time favorite TCP stamp sets, Simply Said, and the shamrock was fashioned using the CutUps Heart Trio die. The shamrock and orange squares are layered on a Big Scallop die cut piece of kraft card stock and tied up nicely with Orange Divine Twine.

Here's a closeup look at the shamrock.

For further details on TCP Tuesday 200, check out Alma's and Leigh's blogs, and don't forget to leave a little love for The Cat Pack on their challenge creations this week for your chance to win, win, win!
