MFT Release Countdown - Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the MFT Release Countdown! I've gone patriotic with a fabulous new Die-namics and stamp set combination: Ride the Wave Die-namics and Wavy Greetings. Both of these products are being featured on the MFT Blog today along with complete product details, videos and links to all designers playing along with today's featured products.

Ride the Wave Die-namics actually cuts 5 waves, but I elected to use 3 of them cut from Red Hot card stock and then leave white space in between each for my stars and stripes look.

Wavy Greetings come with a wide variety of fun and functional sentiments as well as stars, hearts and dots. There's an individual stamp of each along with a 'wave' of each. I stamped two of the star wave stamps and then filled in the rest using the individual star stamp in Blueberry dye ink.

I finished the inside of the card with a single Red Hot wave, another sentiment embossed in gold and three individual stars, again in Blueberry dye ink.

Thanks for stopping and be sure to come back tomorrow for more ideas and inspiration for you shopping list!

MFT Release Countdown - Day 4

It's Day 4 of MFT Release Countdown Week, and I've got cute bunnies on the brain. Cute, as in Birdie Brown Somebunny Loves You cute!

I was inspired by the cutest blue onesie printed with white bunnies and recreated my version of it using Somebunny Loves You.

I die cut a Blueberry panel using the fun new Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle Die-namics and then stamped and embossed my batch of bunnies.

Fishtail Flags stamped with sentiments in Blueberry dye ink balance out the main image and provide a bit more contrast to the Blueberry.

MFT Release Countdown - Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of Release Countdown Week with My Favorite Things! Today's card features Blueprints 22 and a sentiment from Lisa Johnson Designs - Spring Tulips.

The combination of gold, Blueberry and Primitive White provides a striking backdrop for a sentiment from Spring Tulips.

I love layering elements of the Blueprints in tone on tone with pops of color.

The inside is finished with a miniature version of the Wild Greenery and full sentiment from Spring Tulips.

Thanks for stopping by today. You'll find complete Release Countdown details at the MFT Blog, so make your way over there, and I'll see you back here tomorrow with more sneak peeks.

MFT Creative Challenge

Welcome to this month's Creative Challenge with My Favorite Things. This month's theme is Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve, and YOU know what that means - tackling those Valentine's Day cards and gifts. The MFT Design Team is on hand with lots of ideas and inspiration, so be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for direct links to each designer's blog.

I have two cards to share with you today, one traditional and the other not so much.

Let's start with this one which uses a non-traditional color scheme for Valentine's Day. I've used Steel Blue and Fuse Green card stock with the Love Centerpieces Die-namics.

The die cut 'you' is from Love & Adore You Die-namics. The Woodgrain Background in tone on tone Steel Blue gives a further nod to a masculine look and feel.

My second card follows a more traditional route in Red Hot and Primitive White, complete with a trio of Pierced Heart STAX and arrow from Go With It.

Die-cut LOVE is from Tag Builder Blueprints 3 with a tiny heart replacing the 'o'.

I hope you've found a little inspiration here today that will help you get started on handmade valentines for your loved ones. You'll find direct shopping links below for supplies used on today's cards.  Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Organization Event Day 5 - Ink Pads & Refills

Welcome to the final day of a week filled with ideas and tips to get your crafty area organized! Today's focus is on ink pad and refill storage, and I'm going to show you how I currently organize mine.

You're probably tiring of these rolling cart photos, but here again is where I store my ink pads and refills. I have three bins committed solely for protecting my beloved inks, broken into three sections: dye ink, hybrid ink and pigment ink.

You can seriously store a ton of MFT's Dye Ink pads in one 12x12 bin...like 40+. That's a huge space saver, and while I sometimes have to rummage through my bin to locate a desired color, I love that they're tucked away and out of sight when not in use.

MFT's Hybrid Ink pads are slighter larger but still fit neat as a pin in my covered bin.

I'm building my collection of yummy MFT Pigment Ink pads, so there's extra room for a box lid that holds my ink refills.

This is the most 'organized' thing I've ever done with my crafty supplies - labeling each refill bottle! I punched a 1/4" circle of coordinating card stock and glued it to the top of the bottle cap with a drop of Glossy Accents for sure-stay power.

I hope you've enjoyed this week of crafty stash organization posts as much as I have. Always remember to use the ideas that work for YOU. If you're just starting to think about organizing and it seems daunting, start small. Baby steps!

Finally, check out all of the great organizational ideas linked from the MFT Blog along with today's prize package in honor of the 5 Days to an Organized Crafty Stash event and have a great weekend!
