Color Throwdown #408

Hi, everyone! It's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge and this one screams 'back to school' with the primary colors plus green. Doesn't it make you want to step back into your elementary school?
My card goes back even further to nursery school using the adorable Onesie Confetti Cuts from Reverse Confetti. After die cutting a onesie from watercolor paper, I simply scribbled thin stripes with Zig markers and then widened them and moved the color around with an Aquash watercolor brush. While that was drying, I die cut the All Framed Up Confetti Cuts and chose the second largest to frame the sentiment (Worm Wishes) and onesie perfectly.

Looking for more inspiration? Check out the designs of the Color Throwdown Team linked below. Remember to use keyword CTD408 when uploading to a public gallery and #ctd408 and #colorthrowdown on social media.

SPD Sweet Peek: Fang-tastic

Now I'm not a lover of bats flying at my head, but I sure do think this little Fang-tastic bat is a cutie (and I'd let him do a fly by any time)! He's being featured by SugarPea Designs as today's giveaway set during Sweet Peek Week. Leave a little comment here and at the SugarPea Designs blog for a chance to win this sweet Halloween set. If you're not so lucky, you'll be able to purchase Fang-tastic along with all of the other stamps and dies in the Fall Release this Friday (that's tomorrow)!

After coloring him with Zig Clean Color markers, I layered him in a little midnight scene with a moon opening cut with SugarCuts - Zig Zag Sitched Circles, SugarCuts - Stitched Flags, SugarCuts - Whatever The Weather (clouds) and a few enamel dots and star sequins. Not so scary, right?

I hope you've been enjoying sneak peeks of the SugarPea Designs Fall Release and have lots of ideas for the new products on your list. The SugarPea Designers will be on hand tomorrow with one last look before it's time to shop, so I hope to see you back then. Thanks for stopping by and have a sweet day!

SPD Sweet Peek: Fall Fox + Color Throwdown 407

Thanks for joining me today for day 3 of Sweet Peek Week with SugarPea Designs. Today's featured set is called Fall Fox and it's as adorable as can be!  You can win Fall Fox by commenting here, at the SugarPea Designs blog and the rest of the team blogs as well. I'm combining my Fall Fox sneak peek with Color Throwdown Challenge #407.

I colored mr. fox using the color palette from this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and then cut mr. fox using the SugarCuts - Fall Fox dies. He's waving hello from a combination of Countryside Charm patterned paper that I die cut with the largest SugarCuts - Stitched Flag. I then adhered that little scene on top of a card base that I'd layered with the Harlequin Cover Plate for subtle texture.

You can find more inspiration for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge by clicking the team links below and more Fall Fox inspiration at the SugarPea Designs blog. You'll also find links to all SPD designers there as well as complete Sweet Peek Week details. Thank you so much for stopping by today!

SPD Sweet Peek Week - Lovely Leaves

Welcome to day 2 of Sweet Peek Week with SugarPea Designs! I'm so glad you're joining me today as I share a card I made with an incredibly versatile  and must-have set for fall called Lovely Leaves

I created a background layer using the large maple leaf stamp which I stamped repeatedly in Versamark ink. Then I sprinkled clear embossing powder here and there not completely covering each leaf so that I could add both gold and copper embossing powders as well.  I then die cut an opening with the SugarCuts - Chatterbox Journal Card and stamped a sentiment from Lovely Leavesas well as another maple leaf in coordinating ink to match the card base. The sentiment is embossed with copper powder.

You can win Lovely Leaves by commenting here, at the SugarPea Designs blog and the rest of the team blogs as well. The more you comment, the greater your chances are to win, plus you'll be gathering more ideas for this set along the way.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'll be back tomorrow with more of Sweet Peek Week.

SPD Sweet Peek - Barn To Be Wild & Best of Cluck

I am giddy about the SugarPea Designs Fall Product Release and know you will be, too! We're kicking off Sweet Peek Week with adorable farm themed sets and  coordinating paper collection that you're going to fall in love with.

Aren't these Barn To Be Wild critters adorable?! And take a peek at the Countryside Charm patterned paper that I've trimmed with SugarCuts - Stitched Flags dies.

I started by stamping all of my images on watercolor paper in Versafine Onyx Black ink and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Next I grabbed a handful of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, dabbed bits of color on each image and then moved the color around in a loose watercolor fashion with an Aquash water brush. Once dried, I trimmed them out with their coordinating SugarCuts - Barn To Be Wild die. They make me happy and I have a gazillion ideas in my head for this set because there are so many punny sentiments included in it as well.

I colored and assembled my second card similarly to the one above using Best of Cluck and the SugarCuts - Chatterbox Journal Card die as my scene layer. I also snuck in that cutie sun from SugarCuts - Whatever The Weather. The chicken wire patterned paper from the Countryside Charm Patterned Paper Collection.

Well, what do you think so far? The Countryside Charm Patterned Paper Collection is getting me in the moo'd for Fall, that's for sure, and all of those farm fresh cuties - I'm in love. Be sure to stop back tomorrow for more Fall goodness and leave a little comment here and at the SPD blog for a chance to win Barn To Be Wild. Complete details can be found at the SPD blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Color Throwdown #306 + Right At Home

Hello Wednesday and welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge featuring a yummy palette of pink, orange and green. The blooms from Right at Home Stamps - Let Love Grow in pink and orange remind of one of my summer favorites - Zinnias. But here's the weird deal - I buy a package of Zinnia seeds every year and never end up planting them. Thank goodness my mom does so I can enjoy hers.

Here's a look at the official color palette...oh my yum!

So when I do finally plant my Zinnia seeds, I'm going to plant them in a big black pot, just like this one. The stamps in this set have endless possibilities and great sentiments to mix and match as well. Simply sweet.
