SugarPea Designs Caring Hearts Special Release Hop

Welcome to SugarPea Designs Caring Hearts Special Release. I am so excited to join SugarPea Designs for this special hop in celebration of the upcoming 7th annual Caring Hearts Card Drive! This is a special blog hop, so you may have landed here from Lisa's blog, and I'm sure she had you at hello with her seriously awesome designs! You'll find the entire blog hop listed below.

If you're not familiar with this event, here's a bit more information for you. Vera (the mastermind behind the card drive) and Jennifer McGuire along with their team of volunteers will be collecting handmade holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes from October 1 to November 25Vera will have all of the card drive details up on her blog on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. In addition, a generous portion of the proceeds from these stamps and dies will go to the Alzheimer's Association.

I've used stamps and dies from the SugarPea Designs Caring Hearts Special Release to create my cards today. My first card features the adorable monkey from Caring Critters and a sentiment from Kindness Matters. Is he not the cutest little mail-chimp you've ever seen?!

My second card uses sentiments from Kindness Matters along with the SugarCuts - Kindness die in a rainbow of colors. These sets are full of sentiment combination possibilities that you'll use over and over again. Enjoy!

More great news - there are prizes involved, and here are the details:
  • SugarPea Designs is giving away the entire Caring Hearts release (3 stamp sets & 3 SugarCuts dies) to one lucky commenter.  Readers have until October 7th to comment
  • Vera will randomly select from comments left on hop participants to give away a $25 GC to the SugarPea Designs Store
  • SugarPea Designs will announce the release winner on their blog on Sunday, October 9th

Now it's time to hop along to Brianna's blog for more blog hop eye candy using these adorable new stamps and dies. Thank you for spending a bit of your sweet day with me.

Color Throwdown #412 - Color My World

Welcome to this week's Color Throwdown Challenge! I have been missing my most favorite spider from Reverse Confetti's Too Cute To Spook set, so I colored him up in all four challenge colors to show him a little love.

Once I'd colored (Zig markers) and die cut my spider squad, I placed them randomly on a Web Tag Layer Confetti Cuts and then stamped a non-Halloween sentiment from Worm Wishes directly below.

Time to check out the Color Throwdown Squad for more inspiration, including our September Guest - Karren and Guest Star Stamper - Emily!

Color Throwdown #411 - Forest Friends

It's been pretty quiet on the blog lately, so I'm happy to be back with this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. We've got a vibrant color palette for you this week - shades of purple, orange and yellow, which I've used to color up a cute little scene using the newly released Forest Friends. This set is part of the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Celebration, designed by Reverse Confetti exclusively for Simon Says Stamp.

I stamped, clear embossed the images from Forest Friends on Reverse Confetti's Cloud White Cardstock (yes, you can watercolor on it!) and then watercolored them with Zig markers, moving the color around just a bit with an aquash brush. I then arranged my woodland scene centered around one of the All Framed Up Confetti Cuts with a sentiment stamped inside the frame. I just adore these images and hope you are enjoying them as much as me!

Check out the links below for more inspiration, and come out and play along this week. Remember to use keyword: CTD411 if you upload to a public gallery and #ctd411 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites. I'm also linking up my card for this week's CAS(E) this sketch: 190 and CASology cue card | Frame.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Color Throwdown #410

Hi all, and welcome to this week's Color Throwdown Challenge! This week's palette is soft shades of peach, blue and grey. I'm usually a neutral type of gal with a punch of color, so this was a bit of a challenge for me, but I'm pleased with the results using Reverse Confetti's Buds 'N Blooms. I especially love the larger grey leaf with the blue skeleton stamped on top.

I used the same blue ink on the smaller stitched leaf and two shades of peach on the flower buds. Keeping things soft and subtle, I used the same grey ink on the mr. & mrs. sentiment from Bitty Banners and vellum foliage cut from Buds 'N Blooms Confetti Cuts

September SFYTT - Buds 'N Blooms

I have to tell you that Blooms 'N Buds really intimidated me...to the point that I waited to use it until now on my September Sketch For You To Try design. I just couldn't decide on color combinations, and then I saw all the other gals making these uber-fantastic cards and projects with it which gave me total stage fright, so I got on Pinterest, searched for unusual Fall color combos and came up with this. Sorry for the novel, but I just want to make the point that you shouldn't let fear get in your way - even in the silliest of situations!

Once I stamped and die cut my Buds 'N Blooms, I knew I wanted them to really pop against the rest of the sketch layers, so I kept the rest of the layers uniform in white and vellum. I did sneak in a bit of texture though with a Lacy Scallop Frame Confetti Cuts and Leaves Cover Panel Confetti Cuts - they were just meant for each other!
I sure hope you'll get a chance to play along with this month's SFYTT challenge.Visit the Reverse Confetti blog for all the challenge details - did you know you can win a gift certificate to RC and become the next 'Fetti Fave? What are you waiting for - go get sketchy!

SugarPea Sweet 2 Repeat Hop

It’s time again for the SugarPea Designs Sweet2Repeat Blog Hop featuring more inspiration from the August Product Release!
I was inspired by the ever so trendy modern farmhouse look when making this card. A Lovely Leaves sentiment combined with the SugarCuts - Farmscape die was the perfect combination. I did a bit of surgery to my die cut scene, omitting the tractor portion to keep things peacefully simple. There's nothing like being on the farm this time of year, watching the colors change and farmers working hard to harvest their bumper crops.
Would you like to WIN a $20 gift certificate to spend on some SugarPea Designs of your own?  Please visit with each of the design team members listed below and leave a comment for your chance to win!
